Hello Unifor members at YVR2!

I’m writing with a few exciting updates. First, we’re thrilled to announce that the online survey is ready for you to fill out to tell us what you want changed in the workplace.

This “Bargaining Survey” will help direct your YVR2 bargaining committee when the meet with Amazon representatives to negotiate your new collective agreement.

When you fill out the survey, you will be able to tell us details about wages, job security, and other ideas you have for improving your time at work. The survey is strictly confidential, and Amazon managers will not know you filled out the survey, nor will they see the results. However, for Unifor to verify your status as a worker at YVR2, you will need to fill out information about your name and position.

The other exciting news is that Unifor will be holding on-site meetings with YVR2 workers. During four sessions the week of September 16, Unifor staff will be in the workplace to introduce ourselves, brief you on the union bargaining process, and answer any questions you have. No Amazon managers or supervisors will be allowed in the room for these union-only meetings.

  1. Tuesday, September 16 @ 4:30–5:30 p.m. (day shift) and 8 p.m. (night shift)
  2. Thursday, September 18 @ 4:30–5:30 p.m. (day shift) and 8 p.m. (night shift)
  3. Saturday, September 20 @ @ 4:30–5:30 p.m. (day shift) and 8 p.m. (night shift)

All meetings take place in the main breakroom. They will not count as your break time, and the union sessions count as paid time.

Remember it is your legal right as a union member to attend union meetings. The meetings we’ve scheduled for next week have been sanctioned by the B.C. Labour Relations Board. Amazon has no choice but to permit your participation.

Thank you and I look forward to meeting you all soon!

In solidarity,

Mario Santos
