Dear Unifor Local 114 members at YVR2,

Happy New Year to you and your families. 2025 was a historic year for Amazon workers in Canada, and 2026 promises more milestones as we work towards your first union collective agreement.

To-date, we have met with the company six times to bargain. We have discussed the priorities that you raised in the survey and in other dialogue, such as speed-up, wages, and job security. The company has so far been reluctant to make any progress on these issues but we will meet more in the coming weeks.

Your bargaining committee and I are eager to provide an update in person and take your questions, so we will be scheduling a membership meeting in March. More details will follow.

On the legal front, we are pleased to announce that Amazon’s application to dismiss parts of Unifor’s case for your 2025 wage increase have been dismissed. While this seems like a small technical victory, it 1. Allows our case to continue so we can win your retroactive wage increase, and 2. Shows that Amazon’s legal games continue to be dismissed by British Columbia’s legal system (in this case, the Labour Board).

We expect a ruling on our appeal of your 2025 wage increase very soon, maybe this month. As mentioned before, we are seeking to get you the wage increase you are owed plus an additional financial reward to penalize Amazon’s unfair treatment of YVR2 workers.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

In solidarity,

Mario Santos
Unifor National Representative

P.S. - As always, continue to contact us confidentially with your reports about managers mistreating you or your co-workers. These reports are an important part of helping to eliminate harassment and favouritism in the workplace.
