Win for Delta workers -Unfair Wage Ruling
Dear Amazon members,
We wanted to give you an update.
UNFAIR WAGE RULING
Yesterday afternoon, we received a decision regarding the unfair wage complaint filed with the B.C. Labour Relations Board.
The Board ruled that the company broke the law and violated the Labour Code by unlawfully imposing a wage freeze on our Local 114 members, upholding the complaint filed by Unifor.
The board stated
“I order that the Employer provide employees at YVR2 with the same pay increases as
those implemented at the other sites in the YVR node, as described at paragraph 19 of
the Employer’s October 8, 2025, submission, retroactive to the date on which the
Employer implemented the 2025 pay increases at the other YVR node sites”
This is the decision we have been waiting for. Its timing is especially significant as unfair labour practice hearings begin soon.
While the fight is far from over, this ruling represents an important win for our members.
We are awaiting details around when this will be implemented.
ARBITRATION APPLICATION
We also want to inform you that Unifor has applied for first collective agreement mediation.
When negotiating a first collective agreement, the union and employer may require the assistance of a neutral third party.
A mediator can help facilitate discussions and assist the parties in reaching agreement on some or all terms of the collective agreement.
Under the current circumstances, the union has applied under Section 55 of the British Columbia Labour Relations Code, as we believe the employer has been deliberately delaying the bargaining process.
We will continue to keep you informed as updates become available.
In solidarity,
Your Amazon Bargaining Committee
Unifor Local 114
